They are 4 and 6. We will not be re-naming Champagne to Charlene or Charmaine. Dh and I don't feel like we have to do the same things for each girl. Chanel is an okay name; it just lends itself to Nelly quite easily. Champagne is a hard name to go through, but doesn't lend itself to anything other than Pagne which has a negative association on multiple levels. I'm a little all over the place with this - we're operating on very little sleep and a ton of screaming. [/quote]

Champ for a nickname in the short term.  Because she got through 2 or 4 years of a hard life so far, so she is a champ.  And maybe in these first tough weeks, you have to call her her name, because she needs to hear someone call her the name she knows with some love, not derision.  [/quote]
