That's the part you people keep getting wrong and being dishonest about.  You falsely assume the DEI candidate has no merit and was ONLY hired on the basis of race etc, when the reality of it is that given two candidates of EQUAL merit, you pick the societally marginalized or underrepresented one.  [/quote]That's the way it was intended and the way it seemed to work 20 years ago.  But over the past 6 or 8 years it became Frankenstein's monster.  Now there are quotas.  That means, by definition, lesser qualified and even unqualified people are being hired based on identity.[/quote]
I had an exchange with somebody on another thread who kept calling Kamala Harris a DEI candidate. I asked if there were any Black females that would be qualified based on merit and they said no. And they had no concept how racist/misogynist it is to say that.[/quote]
