But a large and/or formal gathering I would expect shoes to stay on. For one, a giant pile of shoes in the entrance is gross and a tripping hazard and secondly, footwear is part of a more formal outfit. We have all hardwood floors in main areas so I just vacuum and steam mop after larger gatherings. [/quote]
