Rising 5th grader, oldest sibling, matched at top choice, Latin 2nd Street. I'm walking around in disbelief. And also obviously not going to chat it up among the 4th grade moms, so posting here :)
Congrats, that must feel great! Glad you are happy and know where your kid will be. Thank you for not discussing it with other parents. It's a hard day for many.
Yep. My fourth-grade kid is being relentlessly bullied (according to the school, targeted for no clear reason, kid just seems to be the accepted bullying target for everyone having a bad day) at our Deal feeder. We applied for both Latins (knowing it was a long shot, but the culture/curriculum would have been beyond perfect for our kid - smart, into history and debate, very prosocial, not particularly excited about STEM), every elementary near-ish us, and BASIS. Based on our waitlist numbers we got a lottery number at the absolute bottom of the barrel. Not really sure what to do now, since private school and moving aren’t options for us. Hoping we don’t have to fight with the school/OSSE to try to get a transfer for fifth.
