I love Sela, our child loves Sela, and it has been fantastic in generally every way. The only reason we are (considering) leaving is to secure a middle school feeder pattern. I would regret leaving though

Which are really just ordered in terms of commute. All wonderful schools.

We're EOTP, zoned for Wells (fine) and Coolidge (currently not fine). I'd rather enroll in a good feeder now then face getting shut out in 5th and 6th and having to move (if we could even afford it). If we could be assured Deal/Basis/Latin/Hardy, then we'd stay at Sela through 5th.

Oh man, crossing fingers you get Shepherd because the commute to Key seems like it would be ROUGH.

Thanks for answering. Poor Sela (among others) who lose families (like us as well) to plan for the feeder.

Hard to say no to Key as well as any of those schools. You may have some real choices to make. Low waitlist for wand one.

You got an offer for Marie Reed dual language? Take it. That school is awesome (have friends there who switched from another dual language program and have been thrilled, also the school has a great swimming program which is a wonderful bonus).

I’ve heard good things, but didn’t know about the swimming. That’s great. Stokes has been #1 on our list for the past four years, although I’m not sure if we could get in at 1st grade even being second on the waitlist.

My kid switched to Marie Reed DL from another DL school and we cannot say enough good things about it. So nurturing and meets kids on all levels and it’s a fantastic, cohesive parent/teacher/admin community. Academically, they brought my child up 2 grade levels after a lackadaisical pandemic/charter experience. Socially and emotionally they saw my child and knew how to give her what she needed. Plus they do a great job with the arts, field trips, etc. Congratulations!

Our youngest just matched at Sela. And we will enroll. If she happens to get off the waitlist where her sibling attends, we will. If not, we are excited to have her at Sela (and knowing the faculty, warmth, etc that school provides for our young children).
