USAO doesn't really talk with the City agencies, they just release whenever they want. MPD now has a degenerate no-work culture because USAO just releases the criminals they worked to bust. MPD doesn't want to do their job. It's a toxic negative feedback loop between USAO and MPD. The DC Appeals Court has also had some pretty ridiculous recent gun rulings so now its quite difficult for USAO to get a conviction on an illegal firearm charge - MPD basically has to come in with video recorded evidence and the officer has to state his probable cause before effectuating the arrest. It's insane how much the judicial branch of the US government is trying to single-handedly release criminals to run rampant on DC. [/quote]
