In fact, it's unlikely that DC will ever be a state. If DC citizens want to vote for senators and a real congressman, then they had better be nice to Gov. Wes Moore and the Maryland legislature, because retrocession is about the only possibility left. DC politicians don't like retrocession because statehood would be an ego and power trip for them. But for the rest of us, it would be a benefit if DC were to join a reasonably well-run state with a vote.[/quote]
