I don't think anyone is saying that this woman should be nominated for Mother of the Year. However, there was a rush to judgment. We were discussing her sexual history, her status as a welfare recipient, her possible mental retardation, etc....all without knowing the facts.

It is distasteful that when it comes to a black person the WORST is always assumed, while others get the benefit of the doubt. Someone posted a story not too long ago about a SAHM who was reading a magazine while her toddler drowned in the washing machine. I don't recall her being harshly judged.

In the end, the facts reveal that this woman was shockingly and disgustingly negligent and I am so angry with her. She really should be tried for Murder 1. The thought of a child being abused and neglected just tears me up, so when I read this story, all I can think about are the innocent children and the absence of a responsible person in their lives.

May their sweet souls rest in peace and may their surviving sibling heal from this grief and go on to live a successful life in their honor. [/quote]
