It’s not. PP is trying to liken it to using a Meme of a POC to be funny. Not the same thing to tweet an actual quote and picture of the former First Lady as it is to tweet a GIF or Meme of a POC to make a joke or as a “reaction.”

And I don’t think she’s stirring drama. I do think there are a bunch of angry bro Dads who have gone low, and continue to go low, even in print Op Eds. It’s fine to believe APS has made and continues to make mistakes. Calling it’s leaders lazy, dumb, malicious, thuggish, etc., is uncalled for and “low.”[/quote]

Not OP, but a Black woman. It absolutely is digital blackface for a White person to use a meme of a Black woman to convey a message. Honestly, it was petty and didn't even need to be said. I agree she should have taken the high road, and not let Turner get to her. She's going to do what she's going to do and we all know it.

An inspirational quote is not quite the same thing as a meme.  But either way, digital blackface is more about reaction gifs that play on stereotypes of black people, not inspirational quotes.
