Ironically, one of the reasons I am not vaccinating yet is TO be limited! The moment I'm vaccinated, everyone will turn to me to do/fix everything again and frankly I'm at my breaking point. We have another house I can escape to if need be and I'd be perfectly happy to not have to live under the constant whiny demands of others.
You need to learn boundaries. Not vaccinating yet to avoid conflict with people because you can't say no? Yikes.
When it comes to your parents who have done nothing to help themselves, are cross-country, and probably both are mentally compromised, saying no is not really an option. I've tried all the normal routes for help (their doctors, social workers, etc) to no avail, and not being vaccinated is the ONLY thing these people will understand because they are 95% focused on Covid. They won't want me there and the system will kick in because they now have nobody. Once they are helped and settled, I can work from there. Until then? I'm going to use non-vaccination as the big stick. When I say burned out, I mean BURNED OUT to the tune of running from everyone and everything just to a bit of a mental and physical break.
