Yes and I hope that MD state makes Montgomery County pay for most of that $250M charge since the majority of those cost overruns were from the NIMBYs who tried to halt the project so that a train wouldn't go through their back yards. That's ridiculous. Montgomery County government and Montgomery County taxpayers are not responsible for the actions of some Chevy Chase NIMBYs, the Town of Chevy Chase, and the Columbia Country Club.[/quote]

Then Montgomery County can take the money out of money that the county will apportion to Chevy Chase and public projects in Chevy Chase.  The state needs to pass the costs down to the people who caused the problems and cost the state the money and that is how they pass the costs down.[/quote]

No, Montgomery County can't. The Town of Chevy Chase is an incorporated municipality. If you wanted to remove the property tax exemption for the Columbia Country Club, I'd be all for it, but that's a state issue.[/quote]
