I meant by PAYING them to stay at home and teach their children.  For instance, someone has 2 kids, and right now makes $15/hour or $600/week.  We would PAY them $600/week for homeschooling instead.  This is less than we are paying people to be on unemployment and much less than we pay teachers (some of whom could instead go onto unemployment while they are furloughed for the year).[/quote]
You still have to be PAYING the teachers who are developing the curriculum. I, like just about every other parent in America, is “homeschooling.” I’m not homeschooling my kid no matter how much someone might pay me; what I’m doing right now I consider to be kind of war work. It is not the same thing as my kids’ regular schooling, but I will do it if I need to. It should not be used in lieu of actual leadership and action.[/quote]
