It simply does not matter.  It is an arbitrary cut off wherever it is placed.  It can never accommodate all school children as there is o universal school cut off date.

And once the children get older, the age difference is not meaningful and they get sorted according to skill,  with stronger ones playing up .  [b]Or they play on the varsity team with older players in the case of school soccer.[/b][/quote]

And?  the discussion is about when to have an age cut off for club soccer.  my point was - the date does not matter...it is arbitrary and children of different ages play together already and will continue to do so regardless of what date is chosen.[/quote]
