I wouldn't care either if my kid had an October birthday.  That's the ideal birthday for school!!! That's like saying you don't know why poor people complain about having no money- because you're rich, and you have money, so what's the problem?[/quote]

I really don’t see how fall birthdays are ideal.  I think like be annoyed if my kid missed the cut off for K and I had to pay for an extra year of preschool/daycare because of a week.  At least with August kids you get to choose which you prefer.  I am annoyed that my kids are only 2 years and 4 mos apart but 3 years apart in school because the older is late July and the younger is kid-Dec.  I spent months wishing I could send my younger a year early, but came around to the idea that she was not really ready and would benefit from not starting K at 4.  Of course I have girls and redshirting seems to be more of a thing with boys.  I think spring birthdays are the best, personally.  No question what class you should be in, good time of year for birthday parties, don’t have to be super pregnant in the summer or winter.[/quote]
