In situations like this, I think a psychiatric eval can give a lot more useful information/resources than the police can. Obviously, if concrete steps are not being taken by the school or parents, by all means, get the police involved. Yes, the other girl involved probably did help to trigger some of the issues, and there were some other very difficult things going on in the child's life. There will always be mean people who upset us, but if stress and getting upset at someone leads to violent thoughts, there needs to be significant psychological help. The child quite possibly needs to be moved to a different academic setting where he can be more closely monitored and supported. [/quote]
