You're forgetting the AAP kids at Carson from Lees Corner, in addition to those from Navy and Waples Mill, and it's unlikely the future boundaries of Western, once set, will include all of Coates, Floris, McNair, Oak Hill, Fox Mill, and Crossfield.  They will likely include all of Coates and McNair, but on the other hand it's unlikely both Fox Mill and Crossfield will end up there.

It will be a perfectly fine school but down the road it's probably going to resemble Fairfax or Centreville in demographics more than Oakton or Chantilly.  And that's OK, unless you decide it's not, in which case you'll have to deal with that if you're in the boundary.

Demographics will be similar to Carson.  Oak Hill will replace Crossfield if Crossfield is not in boundary.  If Fox Mill is not in boundary Oak Hill will replace Fox Mill.

I specifically said the demographics will be “fine.”  Based on my assessment of the demographics and likely feeders, however, I don’t think they’ll mirror either Carson or Chantilly once there are fixed boundaries.  I think Western will look more like Centreville or Fairfax.  [/quote]

Very few, if any. The point of TJ isn't a STEM based curriculum. The point is a STEM based curriculum with advanced students. The peer group is the draw, and that's achieved through a competitive application process, not by offering an AI or aviation focus.[/quote]

How many of those kids try to pupil place at Chantilly? I am guessing that kids interested in the STEM pathway are supposed to be allowed to pupil place ven with the school being over crowded. I would guess more kids aim to pupil place at Langley and Oakton for their programs then Chantilly. I would guess that will stay the same with the new school until people have an idea about what the programs really look like. I think pupil placement will come from Herndon, SLHS, and Westfield. Herndon kids who had been going to SLHS might shift to Western for AP and the special track. SLHS kids going to Herndon, Langley, and Oakton will probably shift to Western. I know some Westfield kids shift to SLHS, I don’t know if they are doing that for Japanese or IB or because they have friends at SLHS so I am not sure how that will be affected.
