Can someone tell me what a person who is at the scene of a protest has to do to appear NOT to be "resisting arrest" after being sprayed in the face with tear gas, punched repeatedly, and pinned down by multiple adult males? Are you supposed to remain motionless like a corpse while being tear gassed, punched, and sat upon? Asking for me and my friends who will be attending more protests.
If you’re standing in the road and they ask you to move, move. It’s not hard. You have the right to protest, you do not have the right to block the street.
Or else what? You’ll be shot and killed? That’s not how the law works here. What was so damn urgent they couldn’t just walk away. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
And there’s the problem, you think you’re above the law. What was so damn urgent he couldn’t move to the sidewalk?
Again, NOT HOW THE LAW WORKS. Blocking traffic is not grounds for execution. Protesting is legal.
You asked how he was resisting. The answer is blocking the street. That is how the law works. You do not have the right to block the street and if asked to move, and you don’t, surprise! That’s resisting.
And that does not necessitate use of lethal force. They pistol whipped him after he’d already moved out of the way. Just stop.
I didn’t say it deserved lethal force, people are saying all he did was help someone that was pushed. That’s not where the conflict starts and to argue that it does, and he was doing nothing wrong, just makes it look dumb. The better answer is, yes he was resisting, but that does not mean they shoot him.
How many times do we have to explain this? ICE didn't attack him for resisting in the street. Thus, it does not matter, so try to focus. Also, you are saying he deserved lethal force. At least have the decency to admit it to yourself.
