I am conservative; I don’t believe in abortion; I would have no issue living in a state that banned or severely restricted abortion (though I would certainly support carve outs). That being said, I hope this opinion is amended. I am tired of the culture wars. I value the American center and I feel that both “sides” would be well advised to resist stomping on hot button issues in this period of time that feels perilously fractious.
I am a conservative as well. I hope it stands. This is not a decision for SCOTUS and never has been. This is an issue that should be legislated. I have heard many ask why 9 unelected people get to make decisions like this. Well, that is exactly what happened when Roe was decided. This court seems to be seeing the danger in the court making these decisions. Leave it to the legislature.
Why have 9 unelected people make decisions for Americans at all?
