I think you have it wrong.  Apparently it was the first family that was disappointed when the Secret Service vetoed the GDS Macarthur Blvd campus for configuration reasons.  The new, combined campus on Wisconsin will address all that, so that GDS will be a viable choice for future protectee students.[/quote]

The school's boosters bring it on themselves with constant carping about how the secret service nixed the school, that it has a pipeline to Harvard, that it's one of the big three - what ever that means. that it has celebrities. I'll just say that parents at other schools don't fret about their school's position in DC like gds does. GDS, once a socially progressive school seems to be more focused on social standing.[/quote]

You are so right.  Some jerk has been posting for several years that everybody from GDS goes to Harvard, and people swallow it hook line and sinker and think it's a GDS person when it's clearly designed to make people lash out at GDS.  Google the definition of "trolling" and that's it.  (I'm not a GDS person, have just noticed the phenomenon -- the person keeps doing it because it gets attention.)[/quote]
