This has to win some kind of award for Most Pretentious Post ever on this site. I'm not sure why sending 5 kids to Harvard in one year means that GDS is a 'feeder' school to Harvard or that this shows GDS is, in some way, superior to all the other fine private schools in this city. Please explain why this is so poster. Please give it a rest, I can't help but think the rest of your GDS community is hanging its head in shame at your continuous bragging. I think the rest of us - whose kids are not at GDS - are probably thrilled to not be there if you are at all representative of the parent body.

Not a gds parent but if you look at their college matriculation there really are a lot of kids who go to Harvard (and other ivys). Gds is in this way unparalleled. Info is available online, you may have to do a little digging to find it.

Here we go. Show us online info that demonstrates this "unparalleled" connection, please. (And GDS parent posts on DCUM don't count! )

Ok well now that you've asked for it: https://issuu.com/georgetowndayschool/docs/gds_fall_2015_magazine_and_annual_r

Scroll through to class of 2015 page.

Five to Harvard in one year. That beats the pants off Sidwell and the Cathedral schools. You can't argue with success.

Sad and desperate cry for attention.

Everyone knows that GDS is the number one Harvard feeder school. Everyone in DC knows that....

Yes. I had a "hook". But also didn't want my kids to grow up thinking it's ok to make $20,000 for the rest of their lives and work for the peace corps. Oh but then think they should vacation at the 4 seasons.

I would be very proud of my children if they chose to work for the Peace Corps and to give back to help people less fortunate. That's a negative?

Not when I'm shelling out $40k a year for grade school.

Then don't. Most people I know don't choose a school like Sidwell because they think it will set their kid up to make oodles of money on Wall Street one day.

I think you have it wrong. Apparently it was the first family that was disappointed when the Secret Service vetoed the GDS Macarthur Blvd campus for configuration reasons. The new, combined campus on Wisconsin will address all that, so that GDS will be a viable choice for future protectee students.

Such a gracious way to tell them they are mistaken. So rare on these forums.

Gds is so frck'n inscure

Why are so many posters so down on GDS?

- we are not at GDS.

The school's boosters bring it on themselves with constant carping about how the secret service nixed the school, that it has a pipeline to Harvard, that it's one of the big three - what ever that means. that it has celebrities. I'll just say that parents at other schools don't fret about their school's position in DC like gds does. GDS, once a socially progressive school seems to be more focused on social standing.

This is an anonymous forum. How do you lnow thatbthe so called GDS boosters are GDS parents?

You are so right. Some jerk has been posting for several years that everybody from GDS goes to Harvard, and people swallow it hook line and sinker and think it's a GDS person when it's clearly designed to make people lash out at GDS. Google the definition of "trolling" and that's it. (I'm not a GDS person, have just noticed the phenomenon -- the person keeps doing it because it gets attention.)

Sure. So where did you end up going?
