Excruciating! But I had two c-sections and my cervix never dilated with either pregnancies.
I thought it was excruciatingly painful as well. Interestingly, I had 2 c-sections and never dilated, so I wonder if this is why? In any event, I had my baby with me asleep in the stroller at the time and it was all I could do to not scream so as not to wake her. It was more painful than my c-sections and my ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I was totally unprepared for the amount of pain. I had bad cramping for a day, and more mild cramping for another couple of days. Then, I bled for 2 weeks EVERY 2 weeks for about 4 months, followed by intermittent spotting for a YEAR. I went back to the OB several times and she said that it happens for a small number of women. I've had it about 18 months now and I finally appreciate it. I think they're going to have to sedate me to remove it though.
