So we’re spending $3.6 million per Tomahawk to kill people like the Minab schoolgirls, after killing Iran’s ancient leader, so that his far younger and as or more radical son could take his place. How does this make Americans safer? How does pushing Iran to for sure go the Pakistan, North Korea route and for sure getting nuclear weapons make us safer? How does creating the circs to close Hormuz make us wealthier? What am I missing?
This didn't start in March 2026. Iran's regime has been calling America "Satan" in unhinged rants, and its leadership has been talking endlessly about destroying America every day since 1979. They have launched countless attacks via proxies, attempted to assassinate Americans, and so on. America hasn't been safe from them since 1979. I don't think they have a path to getting functional nuclear weapons any time soon. I also don't think Hormuz will stay closed long. It's not hurting us anywhere near as badly as it's hurting China and India and other countries.
The people in Iran were protesting against the regime. Now murdering hundreds of kids? Exacerbating the water crisis? The US just radicalized a whole bunch of people and entrenched the hard line government.
