Iran doesn’t value women and girls. Americans feel worse about this than the Iranians do. Iran is making a big to do of it because they know this.
The Iranian government oppresses women, that's true. The jump from there to thinking Iranians don't care about the deaths of their children is crazy, though.
Just a few weeks ago, Basij and IRGC shot and killed, by some estimates, 30,000 unarmed protesters and injured tens of thousands more. No, they don't care. It's no leap, it's stark reality.
+1 Can’t believe this has to be explained at all.
Are you all insane? Trump left the Iranian protestors high and dry, after he urged them on and said "help is on the way," and got more of them killed. They feel betrayed by him. https://time.com/7347090/iran-protesters-trump-help/
Someone should have taped Trump's lips together before he said such a stupid thing. Whether he thought we should get involved or not, we couldn't "help" on any timeframe that could ever have affected the result. All he could ever have managed to do by shooting his mouth off was to get a bunch of Iranians killed. "help" would have taken assets of the right kind in the region that the US can use offensively by ourselves or with local permission. The UAE/Saudis/... weren't going to give us permission to stage any attack from bases in their countries. There were no boots on the ground within a month of Iran, and it'd have taken a couple months to put together anything significant. To the extent there's is normally any independent US offensive capability nearby, for decades we've had a carrier group near the Gulf most of the time. But in January, Hesgeth had moved the Ford group from the ME to the Caribbean to dick around with drug runners in the Caribbean, result being we didn't even have one carrier group's offensive capability within 10 days of the Middle East.
