I'm just going to say this, during the government shutdown I was a sub at many Charters which most have not been mentioned in this thread due to their locations and they are terrible. I did sub at a few in the Ward 4 and 5 neighborhoods and they are not so great either. I question why some of the parents of the bright students let their kids remain. If you want to put DCPS against Charters, stop pointing out a select few Charters that UMC parents cling to.
Go sub at DCPS in those same neighborhoods and get back to us.
Just going off DC School Report Card percentiles rather than doing my own analysis, but here are a some pairs of charters and nearby DCPS where the DCPS is better. I've cherry-picked the weakest charters but still, just making the point that there are some charters that are better than the DCPS nearby, but there are also charters that are much worse than the DCPS in the same area. Rocketship Infinity (30th) vs Lasalle-Backus (90th) Two Rivers Middle (4th) vs Eliot-Hine (21st) Meridian (16th) vs Garrison (98th) Roots (2nd) vs Brightwood (31st) Shining Stars (42nd) vs Bunker Hill (67th)
