We never had farmers or dairy workers before illegal immigration.
We did - but it was just called immigration back then.
No, it was called American farmers. I know because my entire family is in the farming community and tired of being priced out by illegal labor.
Maybe in your little corner. But across most of America, farmers have been relying on foreign laborers for DECADES. I remember Mexican farm workers from when I was a kid and I'm now pushing 60. You definitely don't speak for most of the American ag industry. Even in the 1950s close to 30% of US farm workers were foreign migrants. That grew over time to be over 50% by 2000. It grew over time REGARDLESS of who was President or who controlled Congress. Yet you dolts want to try and gaslight us and pretend this is some sudden new occurrence, in fact an "InVAsIOn!!!!" and it's all Joe Biden's fault.
All true and this is why Clinton, Bush, and Obama pushed Congress to pass immigration reform to suit the needs of modern America. We need foreign laborers to be able to come her legally with prior authorization. These are called work visas. The letting all the unvetted people in and then kicking them all out policies of Trump and Biden are chaotic, dangerous, and completely asinine.
We can discuss future immigration policies after the millions of people staying here illegally are removed. First we get a working border, then we reevaluate.
Tell me you’re not a business leader without telling me. That’s a great way to run one into the ground. Myopia is for the birds.
Yabut yabut yabut scary invasion of criminal rapist cat and dog eating illegals. It's wild that these stupid MAGA brain worms have embedded themselves so deeply in minds that these people would sooner starve to death than countenance the thought of a migrant picking their strawberries.
Huh? More like you liberals can’t imagine a country with actual enforced law where businesses can’t have underpaid illegal labor to pick strawberries but have to actually….pay a living wage and benefits to lawful workers.
You MAGA dumbasses are completely inconsistent and incoherent. WE LIBERALS supported guys like Cesar Chavez, who organized American farm workers and tried getting them better wages. YOU called him a communist, a socialist, a terrorist. Incidentally, Chavez was very much anti-migrant labor, because he wanted Americans to be able to do those jobs for a fair wage. WE LIBERALS have been calling for living wages for decades. YOU whined and moaned and called US communists and socialists and terrorists and accused us of being greedy thieves and retaliated against us by busting unions and threatening American workers with automation and offshoring and everything else. YOU CONSERVATIVES have stood in the way of these things for decades. YOU have stood in the way of any kind of coherent policy for decades, whether living wages, immigration reform or even the border wall. It was YOUR side who, before Trump came along, didn't want a border wall, who wanted lax immigration controls and cheap migrant labor. https://theconversation.com/republicans-once-championed-immigration-in-the-us-why-has-the-partys-rhetoric-and-public-opinion-changed-so-dramatically-239836 And now you presume to come along and preach to us about stuff we've always supported, like living wages? Come on.
Your wistful remembrance of something that happened 50-60 years ago is cute. Cesar Chavez has been dead since 1993. The Democratic Party right now is not the party of Cesar Chavez type people. Wake up.
And the GOP has taken an even greater tumble. Yea, going from Ciinton and Obama to Joe Biden is bad but how the heck did the GOP go from McCain and Romney being their nominees to Trump 3 consecutive times! Weakness. Weakness everywhere in American politics.
