Has it been confirmed she was with a guy? And is this guy another spring breaker or local?
No, she was with a group of 6 female friends. She went to swim in the ocean and was caught by a big wave. Read the news before speculating. Life is fragile. I feel so sad for her and her parents.
DP but the news program I was watching indicated the last person she was with was not in the group of her girlfriends that went together.
Same. The news story that I just heard a few hours ago was that her 5 girlfriends left the beach, and she remained behind with another person. Classic hookup scenario. The news report also said her girlfriends remine in DR and are providing assistance and cooperating. They did not mention the other person that was with her at the end. Everyone needs to remind their teens and young adult children that they should NOT go swimming in the ocean at night. Never, ever, ever. Even with people around. Even with a buddy. Even if it's low tide. Even in a bay/inlet. I grew up on the beach. All the drownings we had each year had one thing in common: tourists. And about 75% of those happened at night, too.
