Honestly though, Elon is so clueless. Does the government ever provide severance pay? I didn’t think so…Would they need legislation to be able to provide those kind of deals? I realize they are going to play fast and loose with the law but appropriations are a big deal.[/quote]

Yes it does.  I can be up to a year depending on length or service and age.  It will be quite expensive to RIF on mass..though Congress could change the laws of course.

I feel like they want to do these cuts w/o actual RIFs which are a cumbersome process. Will they be able to? I don’t know but my sense is they think they can avoid the usual processes.[/quote]
