DS just graduated from Uchicago in CS and Econ, currently looking for work and failing.
We went to the summer open house at Chicago last Friday and the admissions director said that 99% of the class was employed or matriculating to graduate school AT GRADUATION this year. The admissions director reiterated this several times "not 6 months following graduation, AT graduation, 99% of our graduating seniors knew what they are doing this coming fall." Is this not truthful?
Yes this is a lie. That is way too high!
Maybe; maybe not. U Chicago is among the top 5 universities in the nation. Great employment/placement/grad school stats. U Chicago & Northwestern are both slightly under-ranked due to their non-coastal locations.
Not sure why the need to inflate Chicago’s ranking…as it hasn’t been top 5 for years (was it ever?). Also, ridiculous to think their location somehow skews their rankings.
PP- Also - the job market for new grads is tough, no matter the school. BTW DH is a northwestern and UC grad.
