We simply are not attracting the kids with the highest ceilings…. We are simply not attracting the best.
LMFAO Messi when he returns to Argentina to run for president after spending 25 years in Florida: ‘When the U.S. sends its footballers, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re sending players that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing their high school gym teachers. They’re bringing ”American football” coaches. They’re basketball players. And some, I assume, actually play real futbol and not just long-distance hackysack.”
LOL! We have a winner of this thread.
yea because the US is sending soooo many men play top tier soccer.. Messi owning it as a nearing past prime player in US league.. should tell you alot about US soccer. Now pick another sport. Would never happen in our primary sports.
How do you explain that the past 5 NBA MVP's are European? How do you explain 1/5 the NBA is European? How do you explain the number of baseball players not from America? How do you explain the current International Basketball World Champion isn't America?
American pro sports are definitely a melting pot. 28% of MLB baseball players come from outside America. The NHL has twice as many Canadians as Americans, plus large numbers of Swedish, Russian, and Finnish players. Even the NFL had 88 foreign-born players who took a snap in 2023.
yep lots of money even for average players. Vice pro soccer in US.
