I’m sure they discussed it. It was pretty obvious and she was already a mom and older and had that horrible saga with her ex-husband over the embryos that she was likely pretty clear she didn’t want kids. I’m sure at the time he was on board with that, and then changed his mind. It sounds like they are both relieved to have moved on and hopefully on good terms.

It’s sad that he didn’t realize this until later. People always say oh men have much more time, but I just don’t think it’s true. Sure if you’re wealthy and successful, you can easily land a younger woman, which  he has already done, but he still going to be his age when he has kids and I just would not want to be an early 50s Dad on the playground. And I feel bad for his future young wife who will likely have to take care of kids and probably take care of an aging husband when she still has many years ahead of her.

As someone who had an older dad growing up, I can't help but agree. my dad was in great shape but I still noticed and felt the age on him. I have conflicting feelings because while I had a great childhood, I became hyperaware of his age and developed anxiety over it.

They moved on pretty quickly so I wonder how long their relationship had been really over for[/quote]
