1) no weapon used in this crime

2) such crimes often involve SEVERAL armed perps, even if you were LE you are not going to outgun that sitch.

3) shoot as a crime victim and I would NOT expect that to go well for you legally in this city

4) is it really harder to move than to pretend you will play Rambo and in all likelihood lose everything, if not killed yourself, in reality? What if your teens want to go to a movie in Georgetown? Skating? Shopping?

5) there have been murders, robberies and carjackings often in broad daylight in the Georgetown strip for a while now, even during rush hour. 1 man was murdered outside georgetown cupcake around the same time in the evening. maybe people had not noticed change until this had so much publicity?

The homeowner who shot the carjacker in the alley was charged.

Months later, the off duty security guard who shot the carjacker was not.
