I like that my head rests perfectly on my husband’s shoulder when we dance or hug. It would be really weird to be short and date anyone 6 feet or taller and have your face buried in their pecs or belly button when you hug/dance. Also, my husband and I fit like a glove during sex. He can also easily pick me up. How does a short woman even wrap her legs around a tall guy—she can’t.
Not disparaging what other people like, but this is specifically why I just was not into dating much taller men. I'm 5'4", so not tiny but also not tall. I dated a few athletes in college and after and the feeling of turning to my date and just seeing torso was so weird. Slightly better when sitting down but you still had to tilt your head back to make eye contact. It's so uncomfortable. My DH is 5'10" and I feel like we are the same general level when we interact, which I honestly think improves communication and might even promote empathy and other things that are valuable in a marriage. There was just something about being someone who was a full head or more taller than me that just didn't feel comfortable to me. I'm sure those couple with the big height gaps just have different preferences than me, I guess the stuff that bugged me about it doesn't bother them. But I've never once wished my DH was any taller, and I don't think he wishes I was any shorter.
