McKnight is an embarrassment and I'm furious MCPS spent so much money and we ended up with her anyway. I think having a non-white female would have been great but why her? I have never figured out what she has to offer. Because she doesn't have what it takes, it makes lots of women look bad. I find her to be just infuriating. I want to hear what she has to say but she sounds like an idiot, and I don't sense she cares about these kids (her treatment of them during Covid was enough for me) and her inability to communicate effectively is humiliating for an adult in her position.
Agree. I guess nobody else wants the job. MCPS is a large, dysfunctional, miserable school district on a downward trajectory. Hard to turn a ship this large around. Nobody wants to hop on a sinking ship.
Really? I think it's so much better today than when I attended a W back in the 90s. My kids are getting a much better education than I did, but I also try to ensure they get the most out of it. In fact, it's only dysfunctional for parents who expect the county to raise their kids.
You probably work for the Central Office or Board of Education. Take one look at the test scores from the 90's and college acceptance and look at them now. Looks to me like a quality drop. National Rankings aren't something MCPS can tamper with. In my opinion, McKnight and Wolffe are driving MCPS into the gutter. They'll be known as the worst MCPS administration ever. That's probably why they requested $220M dollars - to put lipstick on the pig? My bet is that you'll still see un-renovated, overcrowded buildings and poor academic showings no matter how much money you give them.
