Sorry, with your occasional article with no generalization to all of educational practice. 
When we ask kids to write everything,  we discount the effort of actual production over the skill of "writing." Actually "writing" isn't the cognitive process of writing. We want the cognition of writing,  note taking to supersede the motor, spelling, and format issues  every damn time. You clearly aren't in an educational setting unless this is an Amish situation, but there's no teacher who advocates handwriting over word processing in research  or writing skills. Not one. There are lots of studies actually including the higher value of taking notes by hand vs. keyboarding.  You can look them up yourselves if you're interested.

There aren't.  This comes from right wing circles and not academia. There are plenty of backward religious schools, though, who would accommodate you and back you up. You are 40 years behind. [/quote]
