I roll by eyes internally for sure and nod. I used to think I was tired too. International travel? Night out? Big work project? At the end of it, you can sleep sleep sleep and recover. You can't fathom life with kids till you're in it.
Well. I knew before getting pregnant that pregnancy was not fun and that giving birth hurt like hell. I also knew that being a parent was no.bed of roses and that there were sacrifices. Too bad so many of you were so stupid.
You seem illiterate. No one said they assumed it was a "bed of roses." It is just a different level of tiredness etc than being childfree. Not sure why ppl seem to be disagreeing?
My very good friend is childless by choice. Currently, her mother is undergoing chemo and radiation for cancer and is not expected to see another holiday season after this one. Her father has late stage Alzheimer’s and is in an assisted living facility alone. She works a full-time job and has other commitments outside her family but she is spending most of her time driving from NC where she lives to MD where they live and also traveling for work. She’s exhausted not only by the time spent awake but by the mental toll all of this is taking on her. She is far, far more tired these days than I am with two young kids. People who can’t comprehend that are shockingly myopic.
