I hate when people without kids complain about the costs to board their pets when they travel. I wish I could board my kids for a few days or hire a neighbor to come and walk them a couple times a day while we go to Europe. Unfortunately, the answer for us is we just can't go to Europe unless we bring the kids.
Op here. I had a coworker who told me his puppy was harder than having a newborn.
We adopted a dog who ended up having severe bowel issues. We spent over $10,000 on vet bills trying to get him better but it was exhausting cleaning up after him every morning. (Yes, he wore diapers, yes he was crated). I also have twins and my husband stayed at home with me for the first four weeks and then we had a full-time nanny who started part-time before I went back to work. Honestly, with the twins at least I had days where I could catch a break. With the dog it was months and months of the same thing. Think a sick kid that never gets better. So yeah, my puppy was harder than my newborns.
