Most Americans are not going to engage in a thought exercise to understand words like "defund" and "abolish" in ways that seemingly run in contradiction to their conventional definitions.

Defund: prevent from continuing to receive funds.
Abolish: formally put an end to.

Again, words matter. There are significant political implications for how these concepts around the police are understood and received by the broader American public.

extreme, exaggerated words don't matter when you're extreme either.

to attempt to talk bad a word like DEFUND and pretend it doesn't mean defund, is just incredulous and ridiculous. You made your pick, not change it or live with it. Don't make up a new definition for a word.  Guess you just hope all the leftist you riled up won't later be pissed no defunding actually happened. Even Biden wants to add resources to police forces.
