Alonda Thomas, a Howard University spokesperson, says there is no policy prohibiting dogs. Howard’s campus is open, meaning anyone is allowed to walk through it.

How much you wanna bet that if black folks were routinely wandering around George Washington University taking their dogs for doo-doo walks either the campus police or MPDC would be locking em up en masse without hesitation?  GW’s campus policy be damned they’d see it as disrespectful and probably shoot a few folks because a black person with so much as a toy poodle would be perceived as a threat.[/quote]

As a white person who absolutely hates entitled dog owners (which, let's face it, is 99% of them), I honestly think the biggest issue is that it's hard to do something about people walking their dogs in places rather than this having anything to do with white people being untouchable.

It's also clear to me that[b] people who take their dogs into public areas[/b] are a special breed of entitled and I really, really hope people of color don't lump them into "white people" category because many if not most white people are annoyed by them too.[/quote]

DP  So, according to you I'm not allowed to walk my dog in downtown Silver Spring because it is a public area?  Are you for real?  Where do you think we are going to go?  Not everyone has a huge backyard.  What part of public property don't you understand?   [/quote]
