He did not deflect. He said they were told price was too high, that they could instruct WMATA and staff to continue to pursue existing procurement with cost-cutting measures, and they did so. Everyone should have pushed harder on NDA, but it was a combined universal error across all electeds and staff.

If you had asked Siberberg, she would claim they weren't told anything until March. I have witnessed her in multiple meetings. I have seen how she can have something explained to her again, and again, and AGAIN, and she does not comprehend it. Notice no other member of Council made the "didn't know until March" claim. That's because it's not true. 
For all the people claiming Wilson is a liar, I would submit that Silberberg is the one that is guilty of falsehood in this instance.

109 - FIRE DEPARTMENT HEADQUARTERS

Justin M. Wilson 55.05%

110 - CHARLES HOUSTON CENTER
Allison Silberberg 40.97%
Justin M. Wilson 59.03%

107 - MT VERNON RECREATION CENTER
Allison Silberberg 29.86%
Justin M. Wilson 70.14%

Only one of these precincts went for Silberberg. I think a very small number of people have been expressing outrage over this, and further trying to place very specific blame on Wilson. The results show that this outrage is a minority opinion.
