He purposefully brought his children to the polling place. That does leave his interactions with his children open to comments about his behavior with them. Hardly a cheap shot. You can't excuse everything he does.
+1. And for those interested, he made some off the cuff comment about being an "absent dad" at his Live Oak launch. It went over like a lead balloon. Show he's tone deaf as well as a liar. Who in Del Ray makes jokes about being a bad parent? This is all for Justin.
OMG. A nerdy policy wonk guy makes jokes that fall flat. I am shocked, shocked I tell you. And proud that my fellow citizens didn't vote on that basis.
Same. I think the folks of Alexandria got this one right and I am looking forward to the change.
I'm not a big Wilson fan but I'm glad the race is over. Hopefully the new mayor will get along better with whoever ends up as vice mayor (along with all of the other council members) and the city will be the better for it. I can't imagine that the poor relationship between the mayor and vice mayor hasn't negatively impacted Alexandria in some form or another over the last few years given how little they seem to respect each other. Checks and balances are a good thing but it felt like their mutual animosity went well beyond that.
