Um... Arlington absolutely matters.  In fact, Arlington/Fairfax/DC suburbs generally make or break the election for Democrats in VA.  Big turnout in that area = good for Dems[/quote]

Other Arlington poster here, Arlington does matter in that sense, but it's not like it's a swing jurisdiction where the state will go the way Arlington goes. We can look to Arlington for signals about how the Dems are doing generally, but since there are so few Republicans here, it's harder to get a sense of how they're doing generally based on sampling from Arlington (although when their volunteers don't even show up at the polls, that is telling).
