We played a team one year older and played 11v11 for the very first time.  The score doesn't tell the story.  I think we only got the ball in our attacking half maybe 3-4 times (and that was because of their defenders making a mistake passing it around). I don't think we completed one deliberate pass to a teammate in the attacking half and we did not get any shots off. I don't believe their keeper touched the ball once if my memory serves me correctly. The other team just passed the ball around in the 2nd half and we chased them. Some thought that it was a great experience.  I'm not so sure.[/quote]

Depends on what your objectives are for your kid, and what the alternative activities would be.  There are plenty of people who would love for their kids to be more challenged, not less challenged.  It depends on how kids can cope with losses and frustration - if they cannot, then they are not going to learn much from experiences like this.  I would love to have seen more of this when our kids were at VYS.  But it's not for everybody, for sure.[/quote]

To say it was a challenge is an understatement.  I would prefer a more competitive game where there is an ebb and flow where there's at least some success.  A few passes connected.  A few shots on goal. Something.[/quote]
