Must depend on the age.  I have a Red player at VYS now, and they are not practicing right now either; practice stopped in November after the last tournament; practice will resume once per week in January.  No scrimmages setup during this dead period for my son's Red team.  And VYS has never taped any of our Red team games the entire fall season.

So, not doubting your experience, but it's not just a Red vs. Black thing ... our Red team has none of the stuff you've mentioned.[/quote]
