+1. I had this conversation with my mother about 8 months ago.  Mostly because she started trans men in bathroom panic rant  in front of my gay college aged son with a trans housemate. And someone needed to stick up for my kid in this gross display of homophobia and transphobia.

— except 1-2% of the population is trans.  So, statistically, you are regularly in a public restroom with a trans person who is closing the stall door,  minding their own business and passing as biologically female.

(She was not aware. She is also not aware my son is gay, because he has decent self preservation instincts.  And my stepfather interrupted at that point to demand my 53 year old self respect my mother and our former President (not necessarily in that order)).

But yeah, the “men in women’s private spaces crew” seems completely unaware that there have been trans men in women’s bathrooms for years. And it’s such a huge problem that they have never clocked a single one. And if they tried, they’d be more likely to confront a butch biological woman than a trans woman.
