Nate Silver Says Polls May Be ‘Overestimating’ Trump After ‘Huge’ Miss
Silver, in his Silver Bulletin newsletter, lamented on polls being “not great,” particularly in New Jersey. A flurry of them released before Election Day showed a tight race between Democratic Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill and Republican Jack Ciattarelli. Real Clear Politics’ aggregate gave Sherrill only a 3-point advantage.
But Sherrill ended up winning by a much larger margin. She held a 13-point lead over Ciattarelli with 95 percent of the vote in, meaning she performed 10 points stronger than polls predicted. She also outperformed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the state. In November 2024, Harris only carried New Jersey by about 6 points in the presidential election—a disappointing result compared to past Oval Office candidates.

And he mostly won the election based on prices/inflation. Elections are always about the economy. Trump doesn't have ANY policies that are going to make the economy better for people heading into 2026 and 2028.

I’m paying more for groceries and insurance but my life is so much better because transgender men are not terrorizing my bathrooms! Oh wait, I’ve never even seen a transgender person in my life….. shoot.
+1. I had this conversation with my mother about 8 months ago. Mostly because she started trans men in bathroom panic rant in front of my gay college aged son with a trans housemate. And someone needed to stick up for my kid in this gross display of homophobia and transphobia.
— Mom, how many trans people have you seen in a bathroom or changing room in your life?
— none. And Trump will keep it that way.
— except 1-2% of the population is trans. So, statistically, you are regularly in a public restroom with a trans person who is closing the stall door, minding their own business and passing as biologically female.
— No, I’m not. I’d know if someone was trans.
— because you do a genetalia check? And BTW, you are aware your grandson’s roommate Alex, whom you just met, is trans, right?
(She was not aware. She is also not aware my son is gay, because he has decent self preservation instincts. And my stepfather interrupted at that point to demand my 53 year old self respect my mother and our former President (not necessarily in that order)).
Good times.
But yeah, the “men in women’s private spaces crew” seems completely unaware that there have been trans men in women’s bathrooms for years. And it’s such a huge problem that they have never clocked a single one. And if they tried, they’d be more likely to confront a butch biological woman than a trans woman.

This poll has him above his popular vote totals. Trump has always been a divisive figure, but these polls show all his recent moves are not alienate the people who voted for him, which was the majority of the country. In fact, he’s picked up a percentage or two.
He’s got 100% of the racist vote and this group is growing faster than the economy. He’s also got 100% of people who only watch Fox and Newsmax.
