Bad move because Brazil's actions here are bringing a lot more attention to a robbery that I believe really happened. Matt Lauer gave an interview to Costas last night after Lauer spoke to Lochte on the phone. It was detailed and convincing. Lauer concluded that it happened but Lochte may have embellished some of the details during the initial telling of the story. I suspect the men were very drunk when they were robbed. Details of the encounter could be hazy. Lauer also described interesting tid-bits of his conversation with Lochte, like how Lochte compared the questioning he rec'd in the US after his home was burgled to the questioning he rec'd from Brazil police after they reported the robbery. The police is Brazil were very casual and didn't ask for many details. [/quote]
