We also don't have room for schools to keep their numbers low while other schools are busting at the seams. Did you see they are looking to put another ES in N. Arl. b/c Discovery didn't solve anything?
Discovery, which is currently underenrolled, didn't solve anything? I'd like to think that the CIP process is setting one side of Arlington against the other, but -- and I say this as a North Arlington parent -- I don't know that most North Arlington parents need to be set. People I have always liked just fine start talking about schools and I want to scream, because I haven't heard such grabby mine-mine-mine talk since my kids were in preschool. God forbid your kids might have to go to a highrise middle school. God forbid your kid might have issues getting to orchestra practice because they're doing a staged move into Stratford building so that the current Stratford students don't have to be moved twice. God forbid your kids have to attend a school with a less-than-impressive building, or have classes in trailers, or whatever. And whatever you do, don't step aside for the kids south of 50, because they already have such a sweet deal, with their subsidized meals and their Title I staffing. And yes, if you have ever complained about that, or about "inequities in education" (by which you mean lower SES schools are getting something your high-SES school isn't, I mean you).
Did you mean to write the cip process ISN'T out to set us against each other? I think you did.
