Or maybe you are being deliberately obtuse and pretending you know absolutely everything about OP's situation.  You don't.  Why can't you just assume that she is doing the best she can?  Step back and re-read OP's posts.  Does she seem like a child abusing monster to you?  If no, assume that she has a reason for not doing what you think she should do.

This reminds me someone accusing an expectant mom of leaving crumbs from a girl scout cookie binge, only to have the OP reveal shortly thereafter that she is actually in a very abusive relationship.  Stop looking for opportunities to be mean and cut others down.  You don't care about this woman's baby.
