What is the basis of Denmark's claim on Greenland ? This is an issue best left to the citizens of Greenland based on an informed campaign. Greenlanders are not happy with Denmark.
They can vote themselves out anytime they want. Denmark has already stated that they would respect their independence.
The process is not that simple. Denmark's governing body must approve any such move after an election victory for independence. Denmark has no right to claim Greenland beyond imperialism.
Are we really working up a Putin-style Ukrainian invasion argument?
Fair question. My answer is no, I am not advocating for any type of use of military force in the inevitable joining of the United States of America with Greenland. The US must purchase Greenland pursuant to a free, fair, and fully informed election by the few citizens of Greenland (total population of less than 57,000; not sure how many are of legal voting age.) The US can make the lives of Greenlanders much better and much more secure than can Denmark.
