I have a microwave but don't care if other people have one or not. It's useful but not essential. Ours came with our house and is one of those microwave/vent hood situations and I hate that because the microwave gets so dirty being right over the stove and it's much more annoying to clean than a regular vent hood would be, while also being less efficient. I will never select this set up on purpose if we ever renovate this or another kitchen.[/quote]
